Method

Make the 'Pachi Masala' by grinding all the said ingredients into a coarse paste. Marinate the prawns with the masala paste and salt and leave it in the fridge for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel.Once the oil starts smoking add bay leaf and curry leaves.Saute for a second. Now add the sliced onions and fry till golden brown.Add the marinated prawns(along with the masala) and saute them well until the masala forms a uniform coating over the prawns.Add 2 cups of water and cook it for 7 minutes or till you get the desired consistency. Now add all the powders.Mix well, and cook for a couple of minutes. Now serve it hot, garnished with fresh parsley along with Chappathi/Paratha/Steamed Rice. You can use the same recipe with Chicken and enjoy Kodi Pachi Masala.
